Campaigns

The United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can only be implemented if sufficient attention is paid to cross-cutting issues. This also serves to ensure a high level of effectiveness of the German development cooperation. Therefore, this campaign highlights interactions, fields of action and cooperation potential between the water sector and other sectors within the framework of six cross-cutting strategies.

We experience severe impacts of climate change through water, especially in water availability and quality. In many regions, climate change intensifies water scarcity, heavy rainfalls and flood events. Effects are already visible across the economy. Therefore, German development cooperation supports actions to strengthen climate resilience through policies, technical and nature-based solutions.
