The 9th World Water Forum is taking place in Dakar, Senegal from 21 to 25 March 2022. It is the world’s
largest international event on water and Sustainable Development Goal 6 of the 2030 Agenda and
offers a unique platform for politics, multilateral institutions, academia, civil society, and the
private sector to make long-term progress on global water challenges. With more than 700 million
euros in annual funding, Germany has been one of the three largest bilateral donors in the water
sector for many years and is present with a German pavilion on-site.
The pavilion showcases
the joint and multifaceted engagement of German development cooperation worldwide under the core
message “A water-secure future for all.” The pavilion hosts numerous events, which you
can follow via live stream. Feel free to tune in live or rewatch the vivid sessions on WASH measures
as a Covid19 response, water security and international hydro-diplomacy, transboundary groundwater
management, climate-change-adapted and peace-promoting water resource management or nature-based
solutions for water security!
The Week on Water for Development (WW4D) offered a platform for thematic exchange on water-related topics with 34 diverse sessions of 77 multi-faceted stakeholders in international cooperation. More than 2000 participants followed our programme - recordings will be available in a few days.
